Keep the Glow!

During the winter time, your skin can get dull and look anything BUT fresh. Here are some tips to fight the horrible effects that winter weather can have on your skin. 

1. Moisturize: It is super important to moisturize your skin at least once a day. This will help keep your skin smooth and soft. It should help combat the dryness that the chill of the winter weather can give. I also recommend using one with SPF, because even with little sun, you want to protect your skin from the harmful rays. I use Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15. 
2. Glowy Skin: You want your skin to look glowy, not dead. To fix this, use a primer/foundation/ or tinted moisturizer to add some dimension. The look to go for is that when the light hits your face, you shine, in a non-oily way. I use Neutrogena Glow Sheers. 
3. Dewy Cheeks: Having flush cheeks is a must. It brightens up your face, and makes you look overall more appealing. To achieve this look, go for a natural, glowy blush. Ones that work best usually have a cream consistency. I use NYX cream blushes. 
4. Highlight: A highlighter's purpose is to accentuate certain areas. Some good ones to try are Benefit Highbeam, Covergirl Champagne Shadow, or MAC Skinfinishes.

Toning Tip: Zumba Fitness

For Christmas, I was given the Zumba Fitness 2 Wii Game as a gift. I've wanted to try Zumba for a long time, and this gift is useful to try it in my own home. I thought I would share my thoughts on what a wonderful game/tool this is to "party yourself into shape".

My thoughts: I love this game! It's like taking a dance class in your living room. I can choose from a variety of different dance styles with more mellow-high and upbeat music. I can also learn the moves step by step on my own pace. It also has trainers to follow so that you can watch to see what to do correctly. I can create a playlist of routines with music of my choice. It also has a progress tracker for me with includes calories burned, time played, and how well I've been doing. It also includes a belt so you can dance all you want-- hands free! I definitely recommend it!

Benefit Cosmetics has released a new product: Sun Beam.

What is it? 

A bronzing complexion highlighter. 

What does it do?

This highlighter gives a radiant golden bronze glow to the skin. Dot and blend over makeup to accentuate and compliment all skin tones/types. 

Additional Information:

You can pick up this product or buy online at Sephora. It's priced at $26 for 0.45 fluid ounces. It is a bit pricey, but believe me, if you've been looking for something like this, it's worth it because this product lasts forever!

Rainbow Denim

I've seen everywhere lately a new trend: Rainbow Denim. All sorts of styles and types, but you want to make sure to choose the right ones so that you don't end up looking tacky. 
 

TRY: Target
FOR: Affordability

Target is now selling a bunch of different colored (red, pink, orange, teal, purple, green, coral!) skinny jeans. They also price at about $20, so you don't break your budget.

TRY: Nordstrom
FOR: Good quality, and lasting color

If your looking for your pair of jeans to last a bit longer and not fade, check out Nordstrom. Price is about $40, which is a good price if you'll be getting good use out of your jeans. 

 TRY: Delias
FOR: A variety of vibrant shades 

Delias has one of the largest variety of shades. You have more neutral peaches, to sunshine yellow. Everything in between like purple, cobalt, teal, and emerald- they have! Right now, they have a buy one get one 50% off. If your looking to have a collection of different pairs, I would take advantage with this deal!

Sorry for not posting in a few days. I was just in the middle of writing this, when the power went out. I've been snowed in- which is lots of fun, but makes it difficult to keep up with post writing. Anyways, stars lit up the red carpet at the Golden Globes! Check out my favorite looks:

Style It: Braids

Spice up your hairstyle with some cute braid ideas. There are so many different ways to try it, here's your guide: 

 French Braid HOW-TO: 
Divide hair into a middle part. On one side, gather hair and begin braiding like normal. As you go, start adding pieces to the three sections you have already made. Continue until desired look and then pin. 

 Snake Braid HOW-TO: 
Braid selected hair like normal down to bottom. Then grab the two side sections and pull up. Hairspray and then pin. 

Fishtail Braid HOW-TO: 
 Divide hair into two sections. Pull a thin strand from one section, across its section over to the other section. Do the same on the other side and repeat. Secure when you read desired ending.

Water fall Braid HOW-TO: 
Make a center part. Starting at your hairline, begin french braiding, using only the hair from the side that your braiding on. When you reach your crown, switch back to regular braiding until the end. Secure with an elastic.

Vanessa Hudgen's Style Transformation

First off, sorry for the lack of posts. I've been super busy- but here goes: 

Vanessa Hudgens is a huge style star. Not only has she played in some major movies, but she has great style and has evolved a lot since she first started acting. 

2006-2007ish: 

 Young Vanessa pairs light-wash bootcut jeans with some pumps and a basic tee. A little casual for an event- but still cute for only being in the beginning of her career. 


















2009:

 At the Teen Choice Awards '09, Vanessa (with darker locks) pairs her highlighted hair with a cobalt blue mini. I'm loving this look! 




























2010ish: 

At the Charlie St. Cloud premiere, Vanessa again has wavy locks and a mini. This time, she pairs a cream satin dress with some sparkly heels. 




































2011-Recent

After chopping off her hair for a role, she styles it to the side. We'll see if she keeps it short, or grows it out again. 




































Vanessa's style has continued to be very effortless, but she switches up the casual factor and glam side. Overall, she has great style! Have an amazing weekend! XO Charlotte

She's made a great comeback and is now a major role model. Demi Lovato has become an inspiration to many and shines on!

 Demi is a supporter of the campaign, Love is Louder. This movement strives to invite and welcome anyone who is or has felt mistreated, misunderstood, or isolated. Since Demi has a troubling past, but as pushed through, she remains relatable and understanding.

  Not only is Demi incredibly beautiful, but she has confidence in herself that shines through. She believes in herself and stays strong. She remains healthy and happy and listens to her body in a positive way. Check out her latest cover on Seventeen magazine!
